Ashley Beldon-Egbuna
Ashley Beldon-Egbuna, MPH, CHES

Ashley was born a mover. Movement has been her passion since childhood. As a young dancer and performing artist she learned early about the importance of maintaining and tuning one’s body according to life’s demands. Her studies of Pilates, Alexander technique, and Bartenieff Fundamentals started in her high school years.

Upon leaving Sonoma County for College in NY in 1994, Ashley began her intensive studies of anatomy of movement and neuromuscular training with Irene Dowd. There, she also studied Alexander Technique and Breathing Coordination, and became a certified massage therapist, a thai massage therapist, and a certified Pilates Instructor. The more she learned about the body and the body-mind connection, the more committed she became to helping people at all stages of life be physically resilient through attunement, empowerment, and embodiment practices.

Ashley holds a BA from Sarah Lawrence College in New York where she focused her studies on the Mind-Body Connection. She has a Masters in Public Health from San Francisco State University and is a Certified Health Education Specialist. Her work as a trainer is inspired by the teachings of Madeline Black, Jean Sullivan, and Jean-Claude West. She is the founder and owner of Move to Thrive, LLC, a Pilates Studio originally established in San Francisco and currently located in Sebastopol, CA.

Ashley produced and taught the “Embody to Thrive” wellness video series on her Pilates and Beyond YouTube channel. She has been a bodyworker, personal trainer, and group class instructor for more than 25 years. She has 15 years of experience as an educator of Pilates Instructors for ITT Pilates — premier Pilates certification program– and 15 years of experience designing and teaching continuing education courses for Pilates professionals.
Ashley’s primary objective as a trainer is to help clients become embodied and, in the process, realize their bodies’ integrity.
